Carrion Crown Chapt. 1

The room is covered in webs and broken pews. The only thing of interest is the cabinet in the front corner.

Spring watches as Bill moves around the room.

So gross, but having both of us trapped in this room is an actual concern so there's nothing wrong with just standing here. After seeing a large spider eat a dwarf while continuing to fight, I think I'll just be okay right here.

Spring then turns away from the room, remaining in the doorway. He scans outside to see which room they should examine next.

As spring scans the area he sees a stair case that most would think was covered by a roof collapse however to Spring's trained eyes it was clearly a dead fall. The other side of the stairs are still in tact and lead upward.

Spring, who loves a good mystery, contains his excitement until Bill leaves the room to show Bill what he has discovered.

Seach the cabinet!

Bill finds:

5 potions of holy water
1 scroll of lesser resto
1 wand of cure light wounds (15chrg)

Striding up to the door of the last room you find it locked. However Bill shoulders it and the door frame, rotted from years of neglect falls apart allowing the old hinges to swing as freely as rusted metal can. The second Bill's foot makes contact with the stone of the floor within the room a couple things happen.

Peering around Bill, Springs trained eye sees a hidden door.

Bill sees a skeletal arm sticking out of a tangle of fabric of what used to be a woman's dress. It is only to be assumed that this is the room where the wardens wife was when the fire started. With an explosion of Ghostly air a woman, beautiful in life and beautiful in death stands before you. She is wearing a tattered blue dress, in fact most of her is blue, hair, skin, and even the tears you can see running down her face. Smoke still rises from her ghostly image and puffs from her lips in little wisps as she speaks.

New guards? The town has sent new guards. Thank goodness you are here, you must hurry and find my husband before they kill me.

I'd rather not do this, but we need all the help we can get.

Something clicks in Spring's mind, but Bill's doubtful look makes him think otherwise She might not be who The Way is after, but I see Bill is still staying cautious.

By the gods, we're not just fighting the criminally insane, but their spirits themselves. Vesorianna, we have been working hard in Ravengro to stop the splatter man and the other minions already. We will continue further until we can save the spirit of the warden from The Way.

Spring turns to Bill. He ponders the tomes they already carry and wonders if there is anything else they may use to stop them, but only as a side thought. Investigating further is far more important.

We should keep moving. Time does not wait for us, and is already working against us.

She nods.

Springs mind snaps to the hidden door he had spotted on the far end of this room

Oh yeah, Bill, I noticed something over here. Vesorianna, do you know what this leads to? Spring moves over to the hidden door area.

Laundry room. She says confused.

Spring does not seem bothered my the innocuous nature of laundry. In fact, it's almost a bit perplexing to him, as Dwarves rarely wash their clothes and bathing is usually just for blood removal.

Spring fingers the edges of the door until he finds the right spot then pops it open. stepping into the room you see the floor is covered in old moldy clothing and rusty buckets.

There is a lump of moldy cloth that is wriggling as if some small child is crawling under it.

Bill investigates this cloth. With his sword.
