The Basics

This will be a PbP (play by post) game and as such you can assume it will be a bit slower than a game sitting around the table with monsters and popcorn. That being said we still need to make things happen so, please ensure you post at least once per weekday and once per weekend. If you are unable to post just let me know and I will auto pilot you PC if it will be longer than a day. If you choose to post more I will do so as well, but without at least enough posts to move the story forward I will not be advancing you all. Instead if Chris posts 7 times on Monday I will RP for him and he can enjoy everything as he goes. Or if you are in a city and he wants to pop off for some shopping he can just say in the thread (Glorfindl totters off) and then in a private thread he can tell me whatever it is he wants to look for etc… Remember, the story will turn out far better the more effort you put into RP so feel free to RP the shit out of your PCs and have fun with them.

Forum Format:
Please try to stick to the basic format (below) for these posts. Keyboard shortcuts do work and I have tried it out, it works fairly well. If the format is followed quotation marks aren't needed and it helps easily keep things apart as you read.
Talking: Keep things you are actually saying in bold.
Thoughts: Thoughts can go in italics
Out of character: Anything you are saying OOC should be in a different color. Please choose a color that is still easy to read and stick with the same one for the duration of the story.
Actions: Actions will be in normal font as this is most likely what you will be writing the most.

Creation and back-story: characters are to start at first level (races/classes are in the players guide I will accept others if justified and it fits) please see the character guide for campaign specific rules and ensure you have read through the material by the start date. I have maps that I will occasionally post for you and in character creation you can choose to be from anywhere on the map you like just note, that if you say you grew up in the palace that your mother was a kitchen girl who was a bit of a slut and you aren’t royalty. (roll 4 drop lowest, Max HP for 2 lvls)

I will be rolling block initiative, if you aren’t familiar with this I will roll initiative for both you and the enemy. If the enemy wins the roll they will act first as a whole, if you have something that always allows you to act in a surprise round I will still let you do so but only after they have all acted.

I hope to start next week which should give me enough time to get all the materials I need ready so please have character sheets ready to go and submitted NLT Tuesday.

For simplicity sake please go to your profile and create a signature with your current stats and saves. Under the preferences tab you can then change the setting to always show your signature. This way if I need to roll a save for you or make a check I can easily do so without having to open a char sheet every time.

When walking around in the world and or researching things by talking to folk please make your post and at the bottom include your roll ex: Diplomacy: (1d20)+3+2=15.

This method should be used for doing anything that isn't normal behavior for normal people and not the people in our group.
